The National Hockey League has seen a number of significant trades take place over the course of the past several weeks with the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off tournament acting as something of a mini-trade deadline and, unsurprisingly given that development, there continues to be a lot of trade related activity around the league.

Last week, 16 different NHL teams were spotted scouting a single game when numerous teams around the league sent delegates to Chicago to watch the Nashville Predators take on the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. Three of those teams, the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets, each had 2 scouts attending the game, while the teams with a single scout were the Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers, Seattle Kraken, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights.

There's no way of knowing exactly what each of those teams was taking a look at but there has been a great deal of trade chatter around Blackhawks forward Ryan Donato who is in the middle of a pretty solid season despite playing for a uninspiring Blackhawks team.

Donato has 19 goals and 18 assists for a total of 37 points in 53 games with the Blackhawks this season and is currently in the second year of a 2 year deal that carries an average annual value and cap hit of $2 million per season.

All that being said, with so many teams taking a look there were no doubt a number of players on the ice that were being scouted alongside Donato.
