Elliotte Friedman stuns when revealing which team will shock everyone at the trade deadline
The insider catches everyone off guard when revealed what to expect as monster moves before March 7! Full story:
The trade deadline is one month away and already, we’ve seen significant transactions take place across the league. However, according to Sportnet’s insider Elliotte Friedman, we ain’t seen nothing yet.
On Friday, during the Fan Hockey Show, Friedman started off by saying that the Philadelphia Flyers, Utah Hockey Club and Winnipeg Jets could be surprise buyers heading into the March 7 deadline.
But more surprisingly, Friedman went on to say that Buffalo is the team that has the biggest chance to set the NHL on its ear.
Just recently, reports emerged that general manager Kevyn Adams was fielding offers for forward Dylan Cozens and that calls were coming in.
According to insider Kevin Weekes, four teams have been quite invested in attempting to acquire Cozens, including three clubs in Canada. Weekes lists the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings as potential landing spots for Cozens if one of them can make the right offer.
The Flames have already added two key forwards from the Philadelphia Flyers in Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee last week, but there is a sense that Calgary is ready to make more moves.
There are also talks that Alex Tuch could draw a lot of interest.
The Sabres are currently last place in the East with a record of 22-26-5 and 12 points back of the Red Wings, who occupy the last wild card spot. Their status in the playoff frame ahead of the March 7 deadline has a lot of pundits thinking that they could be sellers and perhaps Cozens will be on the move, bringing a significant return to Buffalo.
Is that what will “set the NHL on its ear?”
