Sarah Palin sounds off on the Matt Rempe situation.

Former U.S. Governor for the state of Alaska Sarah Palin is sharing her thoughts on the controversy surrounding Matt Rempe.

The situation surrounding New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe has sparked plenty of debate online but this is one person that I don't think anyone would have expected to chime in.

Former United States Governor for the state of Alaska Sarah Palin has taken to social media to express her outrage at the treatment of Rempe over the weekend. Palin blasted what she described as the "anti-Rempe" crowd, questioning whether or not those being critical of the controversial Rangers forward were true hockey fans.

"Shoot. Because HE IS THE DIFFERENCE💪 Since when did so many softies become hockey “fans”?" wrote Palin on Sunday via social media platform X. "Anti-Rempe tribe wanting to change the game to kumbaya-hockey🙄 think y’all don’t really know the game ~ u better off sticking with tiddlywinks #NHL #Rempe #NYR #LGR"

Much like the Rempe situation itself, Palin's decision to chime in on the topic has resulted in mixed responses from fans with some agreeing with her take while others strongly disagree.

Rempe was of course suspended on Sunday by the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety for a dangerous hit he delivered to the back of Dallas Stars star defenseman Miro Heiskanen. It was a huge suspension as well with Player Safety throwing the book at Rempe and handing him an 8 game suspension, something that Palin seemingly did not agree with.

Here's a look at the hit that led to Rempe being suspended:

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Palin here it is always a good thing to see prominent figures from different walks of life commenting on the sport, as it will only help bring more eyeballs to the game that we all love.

Let me know what you thought of Palin's comments today in the comments.
