More bad news confirmed for Brady Tkachuk on Wednesday
A gruelling Four Nations Face-Off tournament has taken its toll on the Senators’ captain and now this:
While the Ottawa Senators were hopeful that captain Brady Tkachuk would return to action against the Winnipeg Jets later tonight, however, it has just been confirmed that the star forward will not be in the lineup.
While he practiced briefly with his teammates, Tkachuk is not ready to return after a grueling Four Nations Face-Off tournament after sustaining lower-body injury.
The captain leads the Senators this season with 21 goals in 56 games and is third in points with 44. In his seventh season in the NHL, he has reached 30 goals in each of the past three campaigns, and recorded a career-high 37 last year.
Tkachuk isn’t the only one who will missed tonight’s contest against the Jets as Shane Pinto and Josh Norris will also be absent.
Out since Feb. 3 with an upper-body injury, Josh Norris was hopeful to play tonight as he continued to skate with teammates, though he hasn’t received the green light to suit up tonight.
Same goes for Shane Pinto, who is out with an upper-body injury since Feb. 4. While he is getting closer to a return date, it will not be tonight vs. Winnipeg.
Norris has put up 31 points (19 goals, 12 assists) in 50 games this season, while Pinto has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 46 games.
