A major update that appears to be a positive sign for Canadian superstar Sidney Crosby.

This would appear to be a positive sign for the Canadians.

According to a breaking news report from National Hockey League insider Darren Dreger, it appears that Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby will at least make an attempt to play at the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off. According to Dreger, Crosby is currently making his way to Montreal where Team Canada has gathered and is expected to hit the ice on Monday.

It remains unclear at this time if Crosby will even play in the tournament at this time, with Crosby's appearance on the ice tomorrow expected to be part of an ongoing evaluation into his status and eligibility for the tournament.

That being said that Crosby is even attempting to be prepared for this tournament is a clear indication that he intends to do everything in his power to represent his country at this tournament.

Crosby is dealing with what appears to be an injury to his right arm, one that he suffered during an awkward collision with New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula. Fans in Canada weren't exactly thrilled with Haula when it became clear that Crosby's spot in the tournament was in jeopardy, and I don't think the NHL itself is probably very happy about it either.

Here's a look at the injury:

We will likely know more regarding Crosby's status after he hits  the ice tomorrow.
