Fan rushes onto the ice during Maple Leafs vs. Canucks.

A bizarre incident occurred on Saturday night during an NHL game between Toronto and Vancouver.

A bizarre scene unfolded on Saturday night during a clash between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Although it thankfully appears to have been relatively harmless in nature, a fan would rush the ice on Saturday night during the course of the game dressed as one of the infamous "Green Men" from Canucks history, although it didn't appear to be one of the originals underneath the suit.

This fan jumped right onto the ice during the course of a normal game and although he didn't appear to have any ill intent, as he was quickly apprehended by a referee and led off the ice with little to no resistance, it did prove to be disruptive and surprising to fans who were watching the game. As you can tell from this recording of the incident, at least one fan was left stunned by the audacity of this green man.

Traditionally the Green Men would simply mock opposing players who would find themselves in the penalty box and never got involved in the game itself, so I suspect that the man underneath the costume here wasn't the real deal, but rather an imposter that used the infamous outfit to disguise his true identity as he went through with something he probably knew he shouldn't be doing.

Here is a look at the original green men in action:

No word yet on any potential consequences for this fan as a result of his actions.
