Wild snatch away defenseman from division rival Jets.
The Winnipeg Jets took a gamble over the weekend and it has not paid off for them.
The Winnipeg Jets have just lost some valuable depth on the blue line.
According to a report from National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman, the Jets have lost defenseman Declan Chisholm after putting him on waivers on Sunday. To make matters even worse for the Jets, Chisholm has been claimed by one of their division rivals with the Minnesota Wild being the team that has claimed Chisholm.
Chisholm, 24, was a former 5th round pick (150th overall) of the Winnipeg Jets at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft but has failed to break through to the NHL level for any consistent length of time. That being said there are many who believe that Chisholm has what it takes to be an NHL level defenseman and it would seem the Wild may be among that group.
Hopefully for Chisholm this will mean an opportunity at the NHL level that he simply did not receive as a member of the Winnipeg Jets.
