Vincent Lecavalier reportedly joining the Habs
This would be quite the first move by new GM Hughes.

The Montreal Canadiens hired player agent Kent Hughes to a five-year deal as their general manager Tuesday, with the hopes that he will be able to turn around a team with the worst record in the league at the moment.
And Hughes is already hard at work as Richard Labbe of La Presse in Montreal has reported that the new general manager could ask Vincent Lecavalier to join the organization. The former star player and Hughes go way back and there is a possibility Lecavalier could join the Canadiens. Hughes made a name for himself in the agent business by representing players from Quebec, starting with Lecavalier, the No. 1 overall pick at the 1998 NHL Draft. His client list also included the Boston Bruins’ Patrice Bergeron, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Kris Letang and Mike Matheson, the St. Louis Blues’ Marco Scandella and the New York Rangers’ Sammy Blais, who were all born in Quebec.
We will know more about this in the coming days, especially with owner Geoff Molson, Gorton and Hughes meeting with the media in Montreal on Wednesday.
