Video: The absolute worst singings of the National Anthem in hockey history

In honor of last night's debacle at the MLB Homerun Competition.

Trevor Connors

UPDATE 2: Since ya'll seem to LOVE awful renditions of both the 'Star Spangled Banner' and 'O Canada', I dug up a few more videos of truly terrible singings.

Check 'em out (if you dare):

UPDATE: Last night's MLB anthem performer Ingrid Andress now admits that she was drunk when she butchered the singing of the 'Star Spangled Banner' last night prior to the MLB All-Star Game.

In an Instagram post this morning the pop star publicly owned up to her poor performance and states that she has checked herself into a treatment center to help her overcome her alcoholism.

Check it out:

Honestly... we all had a good laugh at her expense but this takes real guts to admit in front of the entire world. I sincerely hope that this young woman gets the help she needs and comes back to absolutely ROCK the anthem at a future MLB event.

Read below for our earlier report on this story, published last night as events occurred.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think my ears have just beared witness to the worst singing of 'The Star Spangled Banner' that I've ever heard.

Tonight at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas home of the MLB's Texas Rangers pop singer Ingrid Andress 'sang' the national anthem prior to the MLB All-Star Game and... whew boy... it was a tough listen.

Take a listen if you dare:

Oooooof...

The crowd reaction tells you just about everything you need to know.

This was a cringe fest of epic proportions. Even the players themselves couldn't keep from laughing.

Sincerely, this may have been the worst singing of the 'Star Spangled Banner' that I've heard some Roseanne's infamous version back in 1990:

And who can forget Carl Lewis in 1993?

My all time favorite awful National Anthem butchering though comes from the CFL's brief time in the United States when a Las Vegas lounge singer absolutely butchered 'O Canada' to the tune of 'O Christmas Tree'.

Check it out:

At least this guy hit the notes, he just had no clue about the melody. Tonight though... yeesh... just an absolute train wreck.
