Linus Ullmark lays the blame for tough loss on just 1 player.

Linus Ullmark had some very harsh words to share after the Senators loss on Friday night.

Playing in the National Hockey League can be a tough business, especially when you come out on the losing end of a game.

On Friday night, the Ottawa Senators suffered a tough loss on the road at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights, putting up 4 goals but still losing by a score of 6-4. It is tough to win in the NHL when you give up that many goals and following the game Senators number one goaltender Linus Ullmark echoed that sentiment.

Ullmark, who was clearly frustrated, laid the blame for the loss squarely at the feet of a single player, himself. Ullmark recorded a .815 save percentage after allowing 5 goals on just 27 shots, stopping just 22 of those shots.

"If they had a capable goalie in there today they would have won 4-3 I would say," said Ullmark following the game. "Its way too sloppy to be in this league, this is the type of game where you have to rely on your goaltender to shut the door. Letting those two in at the end caused us to lose the game."

Ullmark was unwilling to place any blame on his teammates, instead focusing the blame inward and making it clear that this is simply the way he operates.

"I take it upon myself, I never put any blame on anyone else, it is my job to make the saves when it's needed," added Ullmark.

Ullmark was asked if rust had perhaps played a factor in his struggles between the pipes, with the veteran netminder only having 3 games under his belt thus far this season.

"To some degree," admitted Ullmark. "But like I said I'm not gonna come with any excuses... it stinks that's all I gotta say."

His attitude is certainly commendable, you only hope that he isn't being too harsh on himself.
