Two huge returns for the Wild on Saturday afternoon.
The Minnesota Wild are expecting a pair of huge returns to their lineup on Saturday ahead of a clash against the Flyers.
It sounds like the Minnesota Wild are expecting a significant boost to their lineup on Saturday ahead of an early game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
On Saturday, Wild insider Michael Russo reported that the Wild could expect to see two players return from injury against the Flyers with both veteran defenseman Jonas Brodin and veteran forward Mats Zuccarello expected back in the lineup. Brodin has been activated off of injured reserve while Zuccarello has been activated off of long term injured reserve.
Brodin has appeared in just 19 games for the Wild thus far this season, picking up 2 goals and 6 assists for a total of 8 points over that stretch and last appeared in the lineup all the way back in November when the Wild took on the Winnipeg Jets on the 25th of that month.
Zuccarello has appeared in even fewer games with only 16 appearances for the Wild thus far this season in which he has played very well, registering 6 goals and 8 assists for a total of 14 points. Zuccarello will have some rust to shake off however with his last appearance for the Wild coming a full month ago, during a November 14th clash against the Montreal Canadiens.
The return of both men bodes well for a Wild team that is already off to a very strong start this season, winning 19 of their first 29 games and currently sitting just 1 point behind the Winnipeg Jets in the Central Division in spite of having played 2 fewer games than the Jets. The Wild have gone 6-3-1 over their last 10 games and will look to continue that trend today against the Flyers with the return of two well established players in their lineup.
