Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner has shared the awful news that his wife Maggie gave birth to a stillborn child on Sunday, a deeply tragic announcement that has understandably left them heartbroken.
“We are at a loss for words. A pain like no other,” the post read. “While this pain is like nothing we’ve experienced before, it’s shown us the immense love we have to give.
"As heartbroken as we are, we are incredibly grateful to be his parents and look forward to holding him again one day in heaven," they said. "We are thankful and feel blessed for the outpouring of love and support from our family and friends. We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy as we navigate this extremely difficult time."
Jenner has been away from the Jackets since March 28. He's played his entire career with the franchise, and was their representative at the NHL All Star Game earlier this year in Toronto.
