Brady Tkachuk himself makes statement on his health situation
The Senators’ captain has been missing from action since the 4 nations tournament final, and addressed media today. More below:
On Wednesday evening, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk missed another game after a grueling Four Nations Face-Off tournament after sustaining lower-body injury.
On Friday, as the Senators took the ice for practice, Tkachuk addressed the media himself and finally shared some good news. He revealed he is ready to return and will be in Ottawa’s lineup against the visiting San Jose Sharks tomorrow night.
The captain leads the Senators this season with 21 goals in 56 games and is third in points with 44. In his seventh season in the NHL, he has reached 30 goals in each of the past three campaigns, and recorded a career-high 37 last year.
During the Four Nations Face-Off tournament, despite a Team USA loss in overtime at the hands of Canada, Tkachuk proved himself to be an important player and leader, though the final definitely took a toll on the forward.
He is however feeling better and fans in Ottawa will be thrilled to have him back in the fold Saturday.
The Senators are also hoping to get two more players back for that contest, with Shane Pinto and Josh Norris expected to return as well.
Out since Feb. 3 with an upper-body injury, Josh Norris was hopeful to play tonight as he continued to skate with teammates, though he hasn’t received the green light to suit up tonight.
Same goes for Shane Pinto, who is out with an upper-body injury since Feb. 4. Norris has put up 31 points (19 goals, 12 assists) in 50 games this season, while Pinto has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 46 games.
