The National Hockey League Trade Deadline is well in the books, having been completed over a month ago. In fact, we're well over a year removed from last year's NHL Trade Deadline that saw one of the bigger trades between two opposite coast teams, as the New Jersey Devils acquired Timo Meier from the San Jose Sharks.
In exchange for Meier, the Sharks received Fabian Zetterlund along with New Jersey's 2023 Round 1 draft pick that turned into Quentin Musty.
But now, that trade has officially been completed. Thanks to the fact that the Devils were officially eliminated from playoff contention, the conditional Round 2 pick in 2024 that the Devils sent back to San Jose will remain a 2nd round pick 2024 1st round pick rather than upgrading to a Round 1 pick.
