The Colorado Avalanche have been without the services of goaltender Pavel Francouz, who underwent offseason adductor surgery; he's since returned to his native Czechia to be with his family.
And unfortunately, it doesn't look like he'll be able to return to the ice, according to Colorado's general manager Chris MacFarland.
"Chris MacFarland described Pavel Francouz's situation as akin to retirement based on the nature/timing of his injury. Said he's not currently planning to ramp up to return to play."
Last season, he amassed a record of 8-7-1 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 16 starts.
