The Penguins have reached a breaking point and line up moves!

Last night’s loss was the last straw for general manager Kyle Dubas and moves are coming starting with one loaded with a strong message on Wednesday. Full story below:

On Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins blew a third period losing and went on to lose 4-2 to the Seattle Kraken and general manager Kyle Dubas has had enough. After it was reported that Josh Yohe that “no one is safe” on the Penguins, except players with full no-trade clauses, such as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin”, the team insider revealed how the “Penguins organization has reached a breaking point with Tristan Jarry”. Moments later, Pittsburgh announced that the goalie was going to be placed on waivers later today.

Fans in Pittsburgh should expect more bold moves like this to be coming soon. It feels like Dubas has given up on a push or a shopping spree at the trade deadline to try to help these Penguins qualify for the postseason. He is focused on the future.

The long-term future…

The GM will keep targeting draft picks, prospects and young NHL players despite his veteran leaders, his core 3 in Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang looking to win another championship before they have to hang up the skates.

Jarry is only one move out of many to come it seems. The netminder is signed for three more years at a $5.38M cap hit, the and move will probably end up sending him back to the AHL as I doubt a rival team would claim him with that contract. Even with it buried in the AHL it’ll count $4.225M toward the cap.

But get ready Penguins’ fans : this is only the beginning of many more moves to come in Pittsburgh.
