Terrible update on Leafs' Timothy Liljegren
Not what the Leafs needed with the postseason approaching.
HockeyFeed
The good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs is that veteran defenseman Mark Giordano was activated from LTIR and returned to action tonight, and even scored the first goal of the game in what was eventually a victorious effort against the visiting Washington Capitals.
The bad news is that defenseman Timothy Liljegren was not available thanks to having suffered an upper body injury, and in the words of head coach Sheldon Keefe following tonight's game, he won't be back and able to play any time soon.
In the 52 games that Liljegren has played in this season, he's tallied three goals and 20 assists.
This adds to the problem that the Leafs have on their blue line right now, as they're already without Morgan Rielly and Joel Edmundson.
