Serious regret from Tarasenko as just 5 teams remain in the mix
Will he accept a deal to any of these interested teams on the free-agent market?

Forward Vladimir Tarasenko remains available on the free-agent market and trusts his new agents Pat Brisson and JP Barry to find him the ideal place to play next season. Elliotte Friedman reported earlier this week how the Russian forward would prefer a one-year deal to bet on himself and go the route of signing a short-term, low-risk deal and perform well enough to make some serious bank in the summer of 2024.
On top of that new information in what Tarasenko is seeking, Friedman revealed how five teams are still believed to be in the mix in the Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators.
When Tarasenko hit free agency, reports emerged that he had multiple offers of varying lengths from contenders to rebuilding clubs worth between $5.5 million to $6 million, with the Hurricanes being among them. However, he rejected them all and changed agents. Unfortunately for the top forward, this is a tough market with the tight cap, and Tarasenko might regret his previous decision now that only five teams are left around for his services.
Tarasenko could seek a new contract close to the $7.5 million he received on his previous deal he signed with the St. Louis Blues, however, he will need to settle for less if he bets on that one-year deal to cash him more money next offseason.
Let’s see if he ends up with one of these five aforementioned teams before puck drops in October.
