Sabres fans get some mixed news on injured forward Tage Thompson

In case you missed the news earlier today, the Buffalo Sabres announced that forward Tage Thompson will miss the All-Star festivities in Miami this weekend due to injury and that defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will replace him on Team Atlantic Division. 

Dahlin is a worthy candidate, no doubt... but if you're a Sabres fan you can't help but feel some concern for Thompson. The team hasn't released details on his injury just yet, but NHL insider Frank Seravalli is reporting today that the injury is "not an injury that will keep (Dahlin) out long-term."

That's a bit of a sigh of relief and, frankly, the All-Star break may provide the bit of rest that Thompson needs to get back to full health. Fingers crossed.
