Shocking health update from Brad Marchand himself.
Panthers star Brad Marchand provides a surprising update on his health moving forward.
Brad Marchand is officially a Florida Panther.
It still feels wrong to write even after seeing Marchand appear before reporters on Monday and speak for the first time as a member of his new team, but in spite of that still feeling like a huge surprise it was probably not the biggest surprise of the day believe it or not.
That's because Marchand, who was expected to miss significant time with an injury that had him designated as "week to week," provided a health update on himself when speaking to reporters on Monday. While most seemed to believe that Marchand would be out of the lineup until the Stanley Cup playoffs, or at least at some point near that time, Marchand stunned those in the room when he had a very different outlook on his injury to share.
Marchand revealed that he could be back on the ice as soon as tomorrow, although he did admit that this was contingent on another round of testing. That being said it sounds like Marchand himself is confident that his return to action isn't that far off, as he also revealed that he would be traveling with the Panthers as they embark on an extended 6 game road trip, one in which they will face off against many teams that are very familiar with Marchand.
The road trip begins with a game against Marchand's former team, the Boston Bruins, on Tuesday and that is followed up with a pair of clashes against a pair of matchups against teams and fan bases that have come to hate Marchand during his time with the Bruins. Those two games will be against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens, both of whom will no doubt be hoping that Marchand will be healthy enough to play when the Panthers come to town.
