Ryan Suter gets bought out... again!
This guy is now being paid to NOT play from two different teams!
This just in, the Dallas Stars are buying out the final year of veteran defenseman Ryan Suter's contract.
From Sportsnet NHL insider Jeff Marek:
So, the Stars will be paying Suter $1.4 million per season for the next two years, while they save $1.4 million this upcoming season as a result of the buyout. Look for the team to make a run at pending unrestricted free agent defenseman Chris Tanev now that they have some increased salary cap flexibility.
Suter, of course, is already the recipient of one of the NHL's largest buyouts in history.
The Minnesota Wild bought out his enormous 13 year, $98 million contract in 2021 and will pay him over $800,000 per year until 2029-30. Add in this latest buyout and Suter is making more than $2 million per season to NOT play in the NHL!
