Ryan Reaves drops the gloves in first preseason game.

Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves took exception to a hit on Sunday night and that meant the gloves came off.

It didn't take long for Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves to make his presence felt this season, with Reaves dropping the gloves on Sunday night in the very first game of the preseason.

Reaves wasn't merely looking for a dance partner this time around but instead took exception to a hit from Ottawa Senators defenseman Donovan Sebrango during the game's second period. Sebrango, a third round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, has never played a regular season game in the NHL thus far in his career and was no doubt looking to make an impression in tonight's game.

Unfortunately for the 22 year old defenseman he probably bit off more than he can chew when he delivered a hit to behind on Reaves, a hit that would immediately result in a whistle from the officials who called a penalty on the play. Reaves however was looking to dish out some punishment of his own and made it very clear to Sebrango that he was not at all happy with the hit he had received.

Much to his credit Sebrango would quickly answer the bell and dropped the gloves with the bigger man, but Reaves would make very short work of him, dropping Sebrango to the ice after just two punches, with Sebrango seemingly losing his balance.

Reaves would continue to rough up Sebrango after he hit the ice, trash talking the whole time on top of it. You can see the replay of the fight in the short clip below.
