Report: Tomorrow we'll know exactly how much the Leafs will pay Ilya Samsonov
Time is up!

We're officially three weeks into the offseason and we still don't know exactly how things will play out for the Toronto Maple Leafs in goal.
Matt Murray looks to be cooked... we can all admit that, right? I don't think even the most ardent Murray supporters are banking on his return in 2023-24. And Ilya Samsonov is still unsigned for next season... but not for long.
The goaltender is coming off a one year, $1.8 million deal and is set to meet with an arbitrator tomorrow to hammer out a new deal in court. Samsonov was one of the 22 NHL players to file for salary arbitration this offseason, but these things rarely ever get their day in court. Typically, the two sides come to an agreement before meeting with an arbitrator. Still, Samsonov's agent Don Meehan reports that he and Leafs GM Brad Treliving are no closer to a contract resolution than they were weeks ago, even with a court date less than 24 hours from now.
"I really don't know what will happen," he said. "I imagine we will meet with the Leafs (one final time before the hearing commences)."
One way or another we know exactly what the Leafs will pay Samsonov by this time tomorrow. Stay tuned.
