This little Red Wings fan is turning into a star. 

Young fan George, who gained the love and cheers of fans at Little Caesars Arena last season along with making an appearance on the red carpet at last night's NHL Awards in Nashville, was featured in the official schedule release video dropped by the Red Wings earlier today.

The schedule release is now public, with the Red Wings opening their 2023-24 schedule on the road in Newark against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, October 12. They'll be returning home to face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, October 14. 

Additionally, the annual New Year's Eve game will take place a bit earlier than normal. The puck will drop at 5:00 PM EST on December 31 against the Boston Bruins. Take a look at a few key dates within the season schedule: 

October 12: Season opener at New Jersey.

October 14: Home opener vs. Tampa Bay.

November 16-17: Global Series games in Sweden vs. Ottawa and Toronto.

November 30: Lone LCA appearance by Chicago and possible 2023 first overall pick Connor Bedard.

December 31: Traditional New Year’s Eve game vs. Boston.

January 27: Lone LCA appearance by Stanley Cup champion Vegas.

February 1-9: No games due to bye week and NHL All-Star Weekend in Toronto (Feb. 2-3)

February 10: Lone LCA appearance by Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid and Edmonton.

April 16: Season finale at Montreal.
