The Madison Square Garden has reacted.
After Game 5 between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rangers, which pushed New York on the brink of elimination, frustration build up in inexplicable ways… One Rangers fan, later identified as James Anastasio savagely attacked a Lightning fan who was celebrating behind him on his way out of MSG.
This might be tough to watch.
It was confirmed by the New York Police Department that James Anastasio, 29 years old and from Staten Island, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of disorderly conduct, and two counts of harassment.” That’s because, per WTSP 10 Tampa Bay, he reportedly assaulted a witness who attempted to stop him in order to get an arrest done. According to the officers, the witness “sustained pain and bruises on his face”, but did not undergo medical treatment.
On Friday, the MSG reacted to the incident, stating that they made sure the victims got the appropriate care and would receive support moving on. They most importantly announced that Anastasio was banned for life from the Garden and all MSG venues.
This what fans, Rangers' fans included wanted to hear.
