The Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League have just announced that forward Connor Lockhart has been suspended indefinitely. He is currently under investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service, per TSN’s Rick Westhead.
This is the only statement that was made by the Generals and the OHL on the situation involving Lockhart:
“On February 6, 2024, the Oshawa Generals and the Ontario Hockey League were made aware that one player, Connor Lockhart, is under investigation by Durham Regional Police Service. He has been indefinitely suspended by the team and the League until the matter is resolved. This follows the team and League suspending Lockhart following a League and team Code of Conduct matter. Given that the matter is now under police investigation, the team and League will have no further comment at this time.”
Lockhart is 21 years old and was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL entry draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Over the summer, the Canucks had declined to sign Lockhart to a contract. Teams have two years to sign players drafted from North American teams and the deadline passed before Vancouver sign him.
In 30 games with the Generals this season, he has put up an impressive 20 goals and 39 points, along with 25 penalty minutes.
No details were given on the nature of the investigation at this time.
