To say that it wasn't an ideal campaign last year for ex-Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Petr Mrazek in his first season playing in Ontario would be a severe understatement.

Signed to a three-year pact with an AAV of just under $4 million, Mrazek was intended to form a solid tandem with Jack Campbell between the Leafs pipes. Instead. all the Leafs got from Mrazek was horribly inconsistent play along with a myriad of injuries. In fact, the team even decided to waive him during the second half of the year. He finished last season with a 12-6 record with a very pedestrian 3.34 goals against average and .888 save percentage.

It wouldn't be long before GM Kyle Dubas would make the call to unload Mrazek, sending him to the Chicago Blackhawks in an offseason trade. And his numbers aren't good on the rebuilding Hawks, currently sporting a 5-14-2 mark with a 3.92 goals against average and .885 save percentage.

He and the Blackhawks take on the Leafs tonight at Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto, and it will be Mrazek between the pipes for Chicago, getting a crack at his former teammates.

"He played here," Richardson said of Mrazek getting tonight's start. "He's a competitive guy. He'd love to face his old team and have a good night and we'll need him to have a good night tonight."

Tonight's game begins at 7:00 PM EST.
