One Canadian team asks the Canadiens for 5th overall pick!

Earlier on Friday, the Montreal Canadiens moved up in the 2024 NHL Draft, acquring the 21st-overall pick from the Los Angeles in exchange for the 26th-overall pick, a second-round pick (57th overall) and a seventh-round pick (198th overall).
The Canadiens still have 10 picks in the draft, including the fifth overall pick.
And according to Anthony DiMarco, the Calgary Flames approached the Habs and made a pitch for the 5th overall pick.
“The ask is too rich at the moment from the Canadiens.”
The 2024 NHL Draft kicks off in minutes tonight and I guess many trade rumours will be heard, debunked and / or materialized ahead of the 32 first selections.
