Oilers sign Stuart Skinner to a multi-year deal.

A pair of National Hockey League insiders are reporting that the Oilers have secured the services of goaltender Stuart Skinner for the next few seasons.

Jeff Marek was the first to break the news with his podcast co-host Elliotte Friedman chiming in with the details. According to the two insiders, Skinner and the Oilers have come to terms on a 3 year deal that will carry an average annual value and salary cap hit of $2.6 million per season.

Skinner is currently in the final year of a 2 year deal signed by Oilers general manager Kem Holland back in the summer of 2021. That deal carried an average annual value and cap hit of just $750,000 per season so this new extension will represent a significant bump in pay for the 24 year old netminder.

Skinner has once again been solid for the Oilers this season with a 2.83 goals against average and a .915 save percentage and it would seem he has now been rewarded for his efforts.
