The NHL announced earlier today that the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Nashville Predators and Columbus Blue Jackets will all be heading to Europe for the start of the 2022-23 season for the NHL's Global Series.
All four teams will play pre-season games in Bern, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany and then the Sharks and Predators will play two regular season games in Prague, Czechia and the Avalanche and Blue Jackets will play two regular season games in Tampere, Finland.

The NHL played 32 preseason games and 28 regular-season games in Europe from 2007-11 (NHL Premiere Series) and 2017-19 (NHL Global Series).
The NHL hasn't played games outside of North America since the initial outbreak of COVID-19 during the 2019-20 season. The league has played five regular season games in Prague and one regular season game in Berlin but this will be the first time that Tempere has hosted a regular season game.
