Minnesota Wild fan survey regarding critical offseason questions released

The Minnesota Wild enjoyed the best regular season in franchise history during 2021-22, winning 53 games and delivering hope to the fan base that they could go on an extended playoff run for the first time in 19 years.

However, a first round postseason loss to the St. Louis Blues ended those hopes, setting up an uncertain offseason that will require plenty of work from general manager Bill Guerin. 

The Athletic has compiled a lengthy fan survey in which they sound off on various issues facing the organization, and their confidence level in Guerin to be able to keep up his team's regular season success that they enjoyed last season. 

Let's start with perhaps the most pressing issue facing the team right now, the upcoming $12.7 million in "dead money" thanks to the buyouts of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise. 

Bill Guerin says despite the $12.7 million in dead money next season that the Wild will be every bit as good. How confident are you that Guerin will be able to make the necessary adjustments to make that a reality?

What if Guerin is able to somehow create some much-needed cap space? Who should he pursue in free-agency? 

If Guerin miraculously created cap space, which of the following centers would you most like to him pursue via trade or free agency?

During Minnesota's disappointing 1st round postseason exit at the hands of the Blues, they were perhaps let down most by their special teams, as both their power play and penalty killing units struggled. And according to Wild fans, that is what still lingers most. 

What bothered you the most about the Wild’s latest first-round exit?

Finally, should Guerin ask one of his big-name players to waive their no-movement clause in their contracts in order to facilitate a deal that would open up more cap space? 

Would you be a proponent of Guerin seeing if one of his big-money players — namely Jared Spurgeon, Jonas Brodin or Mats Zuccarello (who has a modified no-trade clause after July 13) — would waive their no-trade protection?
