Matvei Michkov delivers epic quote after scoring OT winner.

The Philadelphia Flyers have a young star in the making on their hands, in more ways than one.

By now everyone has caught wind of the Michkovmania going on in the City of Brotherly Love with young first round pick (7th overall in 2023) Matvei Michkov producing at an incredible rate for the Flyers with 7 goals and 9 assists for a total of 16 points through just the first 19 games of his career in the National Hockey League. What you might not have known however is that Michkov also has some pretty amazing quotes in his bag of tricks as well.

On Saturday, Michkov and the Flyers faced off against another young sensation in the NHL in the form of Connor Bedard and his Chicago Blackhawks, but it would be Michkov who would emerge victorious from this confrontation. After the Blackhawks took an early lead the Flyers would storm back into the game, and it would be Michkov himself who would prove to be the difference maker.

Michkov would score the overtime winner after some nifty passing between himself, Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim and Flyers forward Travis Konecny, with Michkov burying the game winning goal on a set play which you can see in the clip below.

It was a beautiful goal but the quote that would come after it might have even surpassed the goal itself, with Michkov delivering one of the best quotes of the season so far when asked about his big goal on Saturday.

"If there is a moment, then you need to (finish) it in cold blood," said Michkov following the game.

That is exactly what you want to hear from a player that was recruited to score goals and it seems that Michkov does indeed have ice in his veins given how quickly and how well he has adapted his game to playing under the bright lights of the National Hockey League.
