It seems as though fans in the city of Calgary haven't held much of a grudge when it comes to former Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk.

The newly crowned Stanley Cup champion was spotted back in the city of Calgary over the weekend as he took in the sights and sounds of the Calgary Stampede. According to the person who spotted him, user @emma12_grace on X, Tkachuk was taking in a Tate McRae concert when he was caught on video.

McRae has of course been featured as a part of several National Hockey League events in the past, so it's nice to see that NHL players are going out to her shows to show her some love in return.

Although you might expect that the fans in Calgary would hold some resentment after Tkachuk forced a trade out of Calgary, especially considering how forward Jonathan Huberdeau has worked out for the Flames since that trade, the brief video of Tkachuk that was published on social media shows him being cheered by the fans who have recognized him.

Perhaps the fact that Tkachuk played a role in denying the Calgary Flames' most bitter rival the Stanley Cup, after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, has worked in his favor.
