New York Islanders forward Mat Barzal showed off his musical talent over the weekend.

Mat Barzal has gone from entertaining fans on the ice to entertaining fans on stage.

The New York Islanders forward hit the stage for the first time last week to show off the musical talent that he has been diligently working to hone and for a guy that has dedicated his life to being one of the best hockey players in the world he was rather impressive.

In a series of videos shared by user 'Mary Shiesty' on X(formerly Twitter), Barzal can be seen tearing up the stage with his guitar. The song being played in this first clip will be instantly recognizable to most as 'Mary Jane's Last Dance' from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and I must say Barzal did a pretty solid job of paying tribute to the classic.

The star of the New York Islanders even treated those in attendance to a guitar solo at one point in the evening, showing off just how hard he's been working on developing his guitar skills over the last few years.

While Barzal still has plenty of hockey left in him, don't be surprised if his post NHL career includes more than a few concerts given how rapidly the musical side of his talent is evolving.
