Mark Stone accused of deliberately injuring Miro Heiskanen after crashing into him like a torpedo!

Serious accusations against the Golden Knights’ captain. See how it all unfolded down below:

On Tuesday evening, Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen left the game against the Vegas Golden Knights after an ugly collision with captain Mark Stone.

In the third period of a tight contest, Stone was tripped by Stars forward Roope Hintz, causing him to lose balance. As he fell to the ice, he took out Heiskanen’s leg. The blue liner immediately grabbed his left knee and was in visible pain as he headed towards the tunnel with the help of his teammates.

Stone was called for the infraction when his body went headfirst into Heiskanen’s knee, serving a minor penalty for tripping. Stars head coach Peter DeBoer didn’t understand why the play wasn’t reviewed for a five-minute major. Stone has been accused of deliberately injuring Heiskanen by using his heads as a torpedo to take his knee out.

After the game, with little update on Heiskanen’s status, Stone explained what took place and how he never intended to hurt the rival defenseman.

“I’m looking to angle him out and get a change, to be honest,” Stone said, per The Athletic’s Jesse Granger .“I go to reach to try to angle him out, and I’m not sure who it was tripped me as I was falling forward.

“You never want to see guys get hurt. I really hope he’s all right. But I was just trying to make a play and got tripped into him. I hope the outcome is good, but there was no intent there. I was just trying to make a play on the puck, and their guy tripped me into him headfirst. I would never dive headfirst into a guy.”

Losing Heiskanen for any period of time would be a huge loss for Dallas. He is arguably one of the best defensemen in the world with 283 points in 475 games and has been the Stars’ top defenseman in all situations, averaging 25:16 in ice time per game.

It would also be a tough blow for Team Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off. He was one of the first six players to be named to the squad last June.

Heiskanen got some justice as Stars center Wyatt Johnston tied it 3-3 moments after the collision with his second goal. He also scored the hat trick goal 20 seconds into overtime to end it.
