Maple Leaf forward leaves practice with two already missing.

A total of three of the Maple Leafs forwards were missing from practice on Saturday after one left the ice.

The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be a little banged up in the preseason, although as of right now there are no indications that there is anything too serious to be concerned about.

On Saturday morning, the Leafs hit the ice for their morning skate ahead of a preseason clash against the Montreal Canadiens, but notably absent from the ice were pair of Maple Leafs forwards. Both veteran forward John Tavares and forward Bobby McMann never hit the ice for the Maple Leafs and in the case of Tavares that marked his second straight absence.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube reported earlier this week that Tavares was dealing with some soreness, after taking a hit that forced him out of Thursday's preseason game against the Canadiens. Tavares appeared to be favoring his leg following the hit, although there has been no official update on that front from the Maple Leafs.

The Tavares injury is perhaps the only genuine cause for concern at this time.

A third Maple Leaf would add to the list of missing bodies after Calle Jarnkrok hit the ice on Saturday, but did not stay around for very long. Jarnkrok, who has been dealing with an injury of his own, left the ice fairly quickly. Jarnkrok's departure came roughly midway through practice on Saturday, but prior to that he was participating in drills alongside his teammates.

Jarnkrok's injury is believed to be lower body in nature.

As mentioned Bobby McMann was also absent, although there has been no reason of any kind given for his absence on Saturday.

You can expect updates on all 3 players in the future when that information becomes available.
