Logan Stankoven exposes Connor McDavid's true nature

Telling stuff from the Stars rookie following their playoff series.

The Edmonton Oilers are in the midst of their first Stanley Cup Final since their magical run of 2006, and are looking to raise the hallowed Chalice for the first time since 1990. They've got their work cut out for them against the Florida Panthers, as they've got no choice but to win four of the next five games after dropping Games 1 and 2 in Sunrise.

Tonight marks the first game back on home ice at Rogers Place for the Oilers since they punched their ticket to the Final with a victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final. And it was Stars rookie Logan Stankoven who had a rather telling tale to relate regarding Oilers superstar captain Connor McDavid.

As Stankoven put it, McDavid was nothing but classy and complimentary of him during the traditional handshake following the deciding game.

"He just kind of said, 'Hey, you're a great player,'" explained Stankoven. "'We have a lot of respect for you.' I mean, it's pretty quick, but I thought that was pretty cool and classy of him. He didn't need to say anything like that. He could have just shook my hand and kept going."

"For me, it makes me give him more respect, and obviously got to play him hard, but I think at the same time, it's a guy that you kind of look up to growing up and when he says something to you like that it's pretty cool," Stankoven added.

As the face of the National Hockey League, it's great to see that McDavid remains a classy player that others are openly able to speak highly about, even after the battle that is a series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
