Las Vegas put one of their top veterans on injured reserve.
Surprise move from the Golden Knights.
HockeyFeed
The Las Vegas Golden Knights have made a surprise announcement.
According to an official report from the team, veteran defenseman Clayton Stoner has been placed on injured reserve, indicating that he will miss at minimum the first two games in franchise history.
While Stoner doesn't put up big numbers offensively, he's a reliable stay-at-home type of defenseman that was projected to be an important part of the Golden Knights roster this season, making this a significant loss.
Stoner had not been practicing for the past few days indicating that he was somewhat banged up, however this move to injured reserve appears to indicate that this injury may be much more serious that originally expected.
More to come as the story develops.
