In case you missed it last night, the Vancouver Canucks managed to improve their record under new head coach Rick Tocchet, eking out a 4-3 shootout victory over the visiting Nashville Predators.
It wasn't a game that was overly physical, as you might imagine between two non-playoff teams but it's clear to me that Tocchet has this Canucks team playing a tougher, more physical style. This Canucks team was soft as soft can be under former head coach Bruce Boudreau and it's clear that they're taking a more physical approach now under Tocchet. One thing for sure will never change regardless of coaching though and that's that JT Miller doesn't like to be messed with.
Check out Miller absolutely dropping Preds forward Cole Smith midway through the game after Smith essentially jumped him and started throwing sucker punches:
Old time hockey, baby!
