Jeremy Swayman sends a message to Bruins fans after signing.

Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman has a special message for Bruins fans after signing his new contract.

The Boston Bruins are quickly hoping things will get back to normal after goaltender Jeremy Swayman signed his new deal on Sunday, and it would seem that Swayman is on board with that.

Shortly after the Bruins officially confirmed that Swayman had signed a new 8 year deal that will pay him a whopping $64 million over the full term of the contract, Swayman was tasked with sending a message out to Bruins fans via the team's official social media accounts.

In the message Swayman took the time to thank the fans that supported him throughout the entire process, in what was a relatively short 12 second video.

"Hey fans, Sway here," began Swayman. "So excited to be back, cannot thank all of you for all the support throughout the entire process but we've got a lot of new beginnings to start and I cannot wait to get going."

It's worth noting that not every member of the Bruins fan base was fully supportive of Swayman during these negotiations, with several fans calling for Swayman to be traded or sat for the entire season following comments made by Bruins president Cam Neely last week.

I couldn't help but notice that Swayman's face looked much more somber when the video started before he quickly put on a smile for the video and that does make me question if this was a genuine message on the part of Swayman or merely something he was obligated, or felt obligated, to do as part of his new deal with the Bruins.

I'm sure fans in Boston will have plenty of their own opinions on this matter, they certainly have had them throughout this entire process, and be sure to let me know how you feel about this message from Swayman in the comments.
