The former NHL MVP makes his thoughts clear!

The Stanley Cup Final has been dragged back to Alberta thanks to a 5-3 victory by the Edmonton Oilers over the Florida Panthers earlier this week, preventing what would have been a wild celebration at Amerant Bank Arena of the first ever championship in the franchise's history.

Suddenly, the Oilers are halfway to pulling off the first reverse sweep in the Stanley Cup Final in over 80 years, and it's been thanks in large part to the efforts of superstar captain Connor McDavid. With two goals and two assists in Game 5, McDavid now has 42 points in 23 postseason games to become the very 1st player in NHL history to record consecutive four-point games in a Cup Final series.

And thanks to what he's been able to accomplish, former NHL MVP Jaromir Jagr has stated that the Conn Smythe Trophy ought to go to McDavid regardless of what transpires.

In the event that the Oilers lose tonight or lose in a potential Game 7 and McDavid ultimately wins the Conn Smythe Trophy, it would be the first time a losing player has won the award since goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere in 2003.
