James Reimer has been claimed off waivers!
After landing on the waiver wire yesterday, the veteran netminder is on the move.
On Tuesday, the Anaheim Ducks placed goalie James Reimer on waivers. However, for the second time in two days, a netminder has been claimed off the wire as the Buffalo Sabres have claimed Reimer.
On Tuesday it was the Winnipeg Jets that claimed goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen off waivers from the Colorado Avalanche. Going back to Reimer, who is on the move, he was just in his first season with the Ducks and has posted a 4.5 goals-against average with a .864 save percentage over two appearances. He was signed to a one-year, $1 million contract as a free agent this summer with the Sabres, before he was waived and then claimed by Anaheim right before the 2024-25 season started.
Reimer is a 16-year veteran in the National Hockey League after he was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL Draft.
He has played over 503 career games with the Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings.
He will bring some leadership to Buffalo. The Sabres are also dealing with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who is out day to day at this time.
