The Calgary Flames hosted the New York Rangers on Thursday night in what was an exciting game of hockey. The Flames were strong in the first half of the game, getting fans on their feet at the Saddledome. The Rangers eventually woke up and tied things up for an entertaining third period. In the end, it was an exciting sequence from Connor Zary that broke the tie.

The young forward drove the net and chipped the puck over top of Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin’s shoulder to give the Flames a 3-2 lead. And therefore the win.

Jonathan Huberdeau assisted on Zary’s goal, which was his 500th career helper in the NHL.

After the game, Blue Shirts backup netminder Jonathan Quick still wanted to do something nice for one of the Flames’ players, despite losing to Calgary.

Flames goalie, Dustin Wolf, who stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced, grew up a huge fan of Quick and always saw him as an inspiration to reach the NHL. After the game, Quick gifted Wolf with an autographed stick and you can tell by the face of the young goaltender that the present means so much to him.

Classy move by Quick! And so well deserved for Wolfie.
