Humiliating data puts final nail in the Ryan Reaves’ coffin in Toronto!

It hasn’t been Ryan Reaves’ season in Toronto and it does not take an expert to make that statement. However, on Monday, specific data confirmed how things are actually worse than anyone could have predicted.

Sure, Reaves finally dropped the gloves last week in what was one of the best fights of the season so far, however, it took him more than half of the campaign to achieve his goals as team enforcer.

Now Evolving Hockey has published new data that no only proves that Reaves unable to perform defensively, but he’s potentially Toronto’s worst ever. It’s quite clear from their research that Reaves cannot score goals, even more than anyone in the last 15 years.

5v5 GF% basically shows how often teams score when a player is on the ice and if you take a look at Reaves’ numbers, they confirm that him playing on the Maple Leafs’ fourth line cannot expected him to add any offense…

I could be okay if Reaves was able to provide defensively, but guess what? He is bad there too!

Reaves is in his 15th NHL season and the fanbase in Toronto is still trying to make sense of why he was offered a surprising three-year deal in 2023, with a cap hit of $1,350,000 per season. He hasn’t proven his worth and honestly, Toronto could use his cap more effectively.

Reaves has been a healthy scratch several times this season, though he has been part of the lineup for the past few games. In 31 games however, he has put up just two assists and a -2 rating. And let’s not talk anymore about his embarrassing 5v5 GF%…
