Huge day for Noel Acciari in Toronto.
Acciari may finally get some sense of normalcy.
For hockey fans the days and weeks leading up to the National Hockey League deadline can be among the most exciting of the entire season, but for the players themselves it can be an incredibly hectic time.
Not only do players have to worry about the possibility of being traded, but with that can come the need to completely uproot the life you have been living and move to an entirely new city or even an entirely new country in some cases. That can come with some difficult adjustments, and unfortunately that has been the case for Maple Leafs forward Noel Acciari... at least until now.
While it won't appear on any stat sheet, Acciari has been gutting it out for the Maple Leafs in his first 10 games with the franchise since being dealt to the Leafs by the St. Louis Blues, due to the fact that his family was unable to travel with him. Acciari has been without his wife and his children for a considerable length of time, but thankfully that is all about to change for him today.
I am happy to report that Acciari's family will finally be joining him in Toronto, and in perhaps the most unsurprising news ever it sounds like Acciari himself is thrilled to have his family back with him.
"I’ve definitely missed them," admitted the 31 year old NHL veteran. "Knowing they’re coming today is exciting."
It's hard not to feel good for Acciari and his family here, and I hope they can get their lives back to normal as quickly as possible.
