They're two of the best players in team history, and they've just earned a promotion. Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who now work in the front office of the Vancouver Canucks, have been informed that their roles will be "enhanced" by the club, according to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli.

Meanwhile, Yogi Švejkovský has been promoted to Canucks assistant coach.

According to Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin, the promotion of the Sedin twins will be "hugely beneficial" to the franchise.

“Including the Sedins more in our day-to-day coaching duties will be hugely beneficial to our group both on and off the ice,” Allvin said. “Both Daniel and Henrik bring a very unique perspective and competitive mind set to our staff.”

“Daniel and Henrik have also had a seat at the table and I have leaned on them more and more as the year went on. Their knowledge and ability to teach the game is a huge plus, and they fit in extremely well with our group.”

The most iconic pair of brothers arguably in NHL history, the Sedin twins were drafted together in 1998 and would go on to suit up in 17 seasons. Henrik, known more as a playmaker, would register 1,070 points, 830 of which were assists. Meanwhile, Daniel would light the lamp 393 times along with a total of 1,041 points. Both players have their respective jersey numbers hanging in the rafters of Rogers Arena.

Upon their retirement, they served as special advisors to the general manager, and would eventually be promoted to Vancouver's player development department.
