Frustrated Jordan Binnington is sick of losing & rumoured to want out of St. Louis!

Chatter has emerged that the hot-tempered goalie is sick of losing and could soon ask for a trade.

The St. Louis Blues and goalie Jordan Binnington got one point in last night’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres and rumours have emerged that if the team keeps being inconsistent by Thanksgiving weekend, general manager Doug Armstrong could let rival teams know that he’s willing to move some players. That’s according to Jimmy Murphy of the Responsible Gambler, who spoke with league sources, more specifically about Binnington.

Murphy reports that Binnington has been showing signs of frustration, which is not surprising coming from the short-fused netminder, but also believes that if the Blues remain in a reset, Binnington could ask to be traded.

A scout asked about the Blues’ 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins : “I wonder if Binnington asks out eventually?”

This prompted Murphy to check around the league and found a trusted NHL executive source who once worked with the Blues who said:

“That wouldn’t surprise me if he asked out.

“He’s a gamer, and yeah, I think he’s tasted a Cup before, so he will want more,” the source replied. “There are teams that have a chance and could use him.”

Binnington, who was the star player for the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions, has two years left on a six-year, $36 million contract that carries a $6 million AAV. Teams across the league have been looking for an upgrade in between the pipes and if Binnington asked for a trade, he could become a hot commodity. Murphy was informed that the Carolina Hurricanes could be Interested to which he was told:

“But they won’t be the only ones.”

For now, the Blues remain within three points of a playoff spot in the Western Conference 17 games into the 2024-25 regular season and could be in the mix without having to hold a fire sale.

However, only time will tell and we all know how Binnington’s frustration always comes more easily than his patience…
