Flyers announce devastating update on Cam Atkinson.

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced some devastating news.

According to a report from the NHL's own Adam Immelmann, Flyers forward Cam Atkinson is done for the season. Atkinson has apparently suffered a major setback in his recovery from injury and will now undergo surgery on Wednesday that will eliminate any possibility of a return to action this season.

Tortorella, who has a long history with Atkinson, expressed his sympathies for a player that he says just desperately wants to help.

“It’s been hard for him. He wants to be part of it. He wants to help,” said Torts on Monday.

The news couldn't come at a worse time for the Flyers who just lost another forward over the weekend after he quit the team.
