Flames lose Walker Duehr on waivers!

On Tuesday, the Calgary Flames had placed forward Walker Duehr on waivers with the intent to send him down to the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League.

However on Wednesday, the Flames lost the forward when the San Jose Sharks claimed him off the waiver wire.

Duehr has put up one assist in 16 games with the Flames this season. He also has 11 goals and 19 points in 20 games with the Wranglers down in the AHL.

Duehr joined the Flames as an undrafted free agent and made his NHL debut during the 2021-22 season, and now faces the first move of his career.

He has nine goals and 19 points in 84 career games with the Flames over four seasons.

This is the second transaction of the day for the Sharks, who earlier on Wednesday, acquired left winger Pavol Regenda from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for right wing Justin Bailey.

Regenda was never drafted in the NHL, but signed as a free agent by the Ducks in the summer of 2022. He has recorded a goal and three points in 19 career NHL games with Anaheim.

Last season, he put up four goals and16 points in 36 games with San Diego in the AHL. In 140 career AHL games , Regenda has collected 36 goals and 75 points, along with 159 PIM.
