The Pittsburgh Penguins thought they were down early, but a good challenge by head coach Mike Sullivan reset the game at 0-0.
The Penguins didn't take long to pounce on that opportunity in large part thanks to a pair of bad penalties from the Nashville Predators that led to a 5 on 3 power-play for Pittsburgh.
With the two man advantage the captain Sidney Crosby fed a pass to Trevor Daley who then set up star forward Evgeni Malkin who fired a rocket past Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne.
